In 1999, Telia Mobile became one of the first wireless operators in Europe to offer public WLAN services, under the 'HomeRun' brand. The company is highly committed to the development of the service and since launch, the service has been extended to over 640 hotspot locations in the Nordic region. It also offers roaming services in Italy and the UK.

Today, the HomeRun service is used mostly by SME customers (typically companies with less than 50 employees). The SME sector in Sweden is significant both in terms of enterprise numbers and employment numbers. More than 99% of all enterprises in Sweden are classified as SMEs (companies with less than 250 employees). Only 0.5% of firms have more than 100 employees and approximately 0.1% have more than 500 employees
